Special Issue of a Journal

International Journal of Innovative Computing, Information and Control (IJICIC) will publish a special issue "Recent Advances in Stochastic Systems Theory and Its Applications" after SSS08.

Please note that the special issue of IJICIC is different from the Proceedings of SSS'08. The authors are expected to develop the content from the manuscript in the Proceedings of SSS08.

Recent Advances in Stochastic Systems Theory and Its Applications

Stochastic system has been extensively studied in the past years as its wide applications in intelligent systems and information processing, optimization, data mining, farming, and assimilation, decision making, operational research, control system design, economics, biology, etc. This obviously is due to the fact that randomness or uncertainties are accompanied with almost all `complex systems’. Recently, there have been a great deal of research activities in stochastic systems among applied mathematicians and engineers, as exemplified by the fact that the annual International Symposium on Stochastic Systems Theory and Its Applications (SSS), sponsored by the Institute of Systems, Control and Information Engineers is now the 40th in the year 2008. Clearly, stochastic systems will continue attracting more and more attentions, in both theory investigation and practical applications.

This IJICIC special issue will be a collection of some original papers on recent development on the theory of stochastic systems theory as well as its applications which were presented at the 40th SSS (or SSS’08), Kyodaikaikan, Kyoto, Japan, November 14-15, in 2008. Papers are invited on general topics in this field, including analysis of stochastic processes and stochastic systems, state estimation and control of stochastic systems, system identification and parameter estimation, signal processing and spectral estimation, image processing and pattern recognition, applications in engineering, chaos and fractal, neural networks and fuzzy systems, stochastic approaches in medical and biomedical systems, and mathematical finance, etc.

Manuscript Submissions

Manuscript Styles: The manuscript should be prepared as single-column and double spacing. The paper should start with Title, Author name(s), Authors’ affiliations and e-mail addresses, the name of corresponding author, Abstract, Keywords, main body, Acknowledgements, and References.

Submission Deadline: February 28, 2009.

To make distinction between the papers for the proceedings and this journal, please

  • use IJICIC at the top of the file name, e.g. IJICIC-F1A1.pdf
  • indicate "submission to IJICIC" in the "subject line" of the e-mail.
